Saanich police are seeking suspect in sexual assault report

Saanich police are investigating a report of a sexual assault early Saturday morning in Rudd Park.

Saanich Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that happened Saturday morning.

The incident, according to Cst. Shawn Taneja, happened at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 around Rudd Park. The victim of the attack described the suspect as a male, approximately 5’8 in height and riding a black bike.

The victim, according to the release, was able to scare off the man.

Saanich police are asking anyone with information about this incident or about the identity of the suspect to call authorities at 250-475-4321. If they wish to remain anonymous, they call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police are also urging public to be aware of their surroundings and to stay safe.

Victoria police, meanwhile, continue to investigate a sexual assault with a weapon that happened in Esquimalt early Saturday morning.

The victim alleged that an unknown man entered her apartment in the 800-block of Ellery Street around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The man was armed with a weapon, and sexually assaulted her.

The victim fled the suite and reported the incident to the RCMP, who then advised VicPD.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
