Campus View elementary students will soon have another place to park their pedals after winning a bike rack during last week's Saanich Family Bike Ride.
Judy Brownoff, who chairs the bicycle and pedestrian mobility advisory committee, said an incentive – a bike rack – is offered for schools to get as many students riders out to the event as possible.
"A bike rack is the only (prize) that makes sense for this type of initiative," Brownoff said.
An estimated 400 riders turned out for the Family Bike Ride, held last Sunday (June 19) at the University of Victoria.
Campus View will receive its prize in the fall.
