Snow followed by black ice

Saanich drivers deal with black ice conditions

After dealing with days of snow and ice, Saanich drivers had to deal with black ice Saturday. After receiving numerous calls in relation to several vehicle accidents and increasing black ice on the roads throughout the region Saturday, Saanich police issued a blanket warning for the entire municipality.

They recommended that motorists should treat all roads as icy and asked people to stay home if they didn’t have to go out.

Saanich works deployed sand and salt trucks to help manage conditions.
