CUPE Local 410 went to arbitration after talks crumbled Nov. 1 and members who work for the GVPL voted more than 85 per cent in favour of strike action the next day.

The new four-year agreement concludes the bargaining without job action.

Both bargaining teams plan to recommend support for the agreement; unionized employees have yet to ratify the agreement.

“We look forward to seeing this agreement ratified, which will ensure the positive working relationship between management and staff, and the great work of the library, continues uninterrupted,” said Kevin Murdoch, GVLRA board chair.
