A number of West Shore residents received an unusual piece of mail this week.

The Capital Regional District is conducting an origin-destination household travel survey and is seeking input from residents across the region.

The survey focuses on daily travel information that local governments will be able use when deciding where to focus transportation investments.

Randomly selected households will receive an invitation letter and brochure about the survey in the mail.

Roughly 6,550 residents were targeted and asked to take survey, which is expected to take approximately 10 to 25 minutes to complete depending on the size of the household.

R.A. Malatest and Associates Ltd., a Victoria-based research firm, has been tasked with conducting the survey from Oct. 17 to Dec. 17. Results will be available in fall 2018.
