‘Unpredictable and violent’ offender wanted for uttering death threats

A violent offender is wanted by Victoria police after he allegedly threatened to kill a pregnant woman.

A warrant for the arrest of Marc William Bauer, 39, was recently issued after he eluded police custody.

“Police are concerned that Bauer has shown signs of escalating violent behaviour, coupled with a severe alcohol addiction that makes him unpredictable and violent,” Victoria police spokesperson Mike Tucker said in a statement, issued Thursday.

Bauer is alleged to have threatened a pregnant woman who lived in his neighbourhood in early May.

He has also been criminally charged in connection with uttering death threats to a Victoria police officer in January. That case is currently working its way through the courts.

Bauer is white, five-foot-11 with a medium build, and has short blonde hair and green eyes.

Anyone who spots Bauer or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Victoria Police Department’s non-emergency line at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
