WATCH: West Shore RCMP investigating after early morning ATM theft

Two incidents, one ATM theft and one attempted ATM theft

West Shore RCMP is investigating after an ATM theft and an attempted ATM theft in Langford.

On Feb. 2, just after 5 a.m., police received a report from an employee of a convenience store on West Shore Parkway.

Police said the employee reported an unknown male running into the store and placing a tow wire — which was attached to a white F150 truck — around the ATM inside. Police said the suspect then ran back to the truck and attempted to haul the ATM away using the rope.

The attempt failed when the tow wire snapped and the suspect took off empty-handed, according to police.

One week later on Feb. 9, video surveillance shows two suspects breaking into a convenience store on Happy Valley Road at approximately 3:48 a.m.

One of the suspects is seen hauling out the ATM that was inside the store.

Police are requesting the public’s help in identifying the three suspects in the investigations.

One of the suspects from the Feb. 9 incident was wearing a baseball cap, jacket and long pants. The other was wearing a hoodie with the hood up, a winter jacket with a possible fur-collared hood and long pants.

Anyone with information about the two investigations or anyone that can identify the suspects is being asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
