Woman, 57, allegedly attacks two Victoria cops

Woman now facing numerous charges, psychiatric evaluation

A woman in her late 50s is being accused of a crime spree that involved two dine and dashes, two assaults on police officers and an attempted escape.

Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, the woman was released from VicPD’s jail cells, after being processed for a second dine and dash committed the day before. When released, she went straight to the front doors of the police station and started throwing clothes from her suitcase around the entrance.

It took 10 minutes for police to get her into a police vehicle, to be driven away from the area.

Just as she was getting into the back seat of the car, she bolted and sat in the front passenger’s seat, grabbed the loudspeaker microphone and yelled out for another officer she knew. Officers tried to pull her out, but she allegedly kicked one in the groin.

Eventually, police cuffed the woman and got her into the back of the car, but she slid across the seat and ran from the open door on the other side. She went straight back to the police station’s entryway.

The officers caught her there again and brought the woman back to the jail cells, where she allegedly attacked a jail guard.

VicPD is suggesting two charges of assaulting a police officer, two dine and dash charges and a 30-day psychiatric remand against the 57-year-old Victoria woman.
