It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected death of Ed at the age of 82, in the presence of family, at the Vancouver General Hospital. He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Rosita Acidera, children Sonja Ruthe (Hans Cunningham) (Victoria, BC) and Garry (Keri) (Richmond, BC), stepson, Edwin Tamayo (Maritza)(Regina,SK), grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Nicolas, Callum, Tyler and Joshua, and a sister, Ursula (Dieter) in Germany.
Born in Rheinhausen, Germany, Ed immigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ed was a master tailor who worked for and later managed the Tailor Shop at the RCMP Depot in Regina. He retired in 1990 after 33 years but continued with his craft taking on private contracts with the Canadian Snowbirds, RCMP and military. He moved to Scotch Creek, BC in 2005 where he continued his love of fishing and gardening, and settled into full retirement. He was a kind and generous husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial will be held at St. David’s By the Lake Chapel in Celista, B.C in the spring. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
