We are saddened to advise of the passing of Betty Cross at her residence in Saanich. She passed with her family at her side.

Betty was predeceased by her two brothers (Darwell & Jim) and her husband, Stan.

She is survived by her children (Stan, Drew, Ian, Pam, and Marcia), daughter-in-law (Ina), granddaughter Stacey (Randy) and the apple of her eye, great-granddaughter, Raya.

Betty was born and raised in Windsor, ON. After achieving her nursing degree she moved west in 1950 with her life friends Dixie and Helen and worked at several BC hospitals before settling in Trail as a Public Health Nurse and raising her family. In 1979 she relocated to the North Okanagan to learn the fine art of dairy farming and develop a sommelier's palate for the burgeoning BC wine industry.

In 2001 she moved to Saanich to enjoy the life of retirement. She continued an active social and community life until her passing. Betty's path intersected with many people over the course of her life in BC. Her dry wit and mental acuity were remarkable to her final days.

The family would like to thank all the friends and family who were able to be present for her in her final days. For anyone wishing to make a donation in Betty's memory, we encourage people to pay it forward and donate to any of many worthy causes.

At her request, there will be no formal service however a celebration of Betty's life will be held in May.
