Gary Statham

Born in England 1952 Gary leaves behind wife Ruth, Children Breanne Robinson (Gordon), Bradley Statham, Grandson Oliver Robinson and Aunt and Uncle Ian and Brenda May, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Gary was a strong supporter of the Oceanside community, and filled his time as an avid volunteer. Gary gave generously of his time to North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre, the SOS Parksville, Rathtrevor Nature House, Tourist Information and Sprout lake Provincial park camp host. In 2008 Gary was the proud recipient of the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year Award.
In his early retirement Gary travelled extensively with his family, sailed and enjoyed the great outdoors - in later years Gary devoted his life to the care of his wife.
A Celebration of Life will be held for all who wish to attend, in Gary's honour at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 in the Arbutus Room in the Parksville Community Center, 132 Jensen Avenue East in Parksville. A family service will be held at St. Stephens (with date to be determined). In lieu of flowers those wishing to honour his memory may do so by making a donation in his name to the North Island Wildlife Recovery Center (NIWRC) or District 69 Society of Organized Services (SOS).
