In Loving Memory ~ on Thursday, October 7, 2021 Raymond John Emerson passed away at the age of 93.
Raymond was predeceased by Winnifred, wife of 70 years, and brother Glen Herbert Emerson (Georgetown ON).
Raymond is survived by his children; David, Brenda, Garth, 3 grandchildren, a great grandchild, brother Goldie James Emerson (London ON), and sister Hilda Pearl Emerson (Stratford ON).
Raymond was a proud member of the Canadian military, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a gentle man who supported his family by encouraging us to follow our dreams.
Throughout his life he volunteered in his community supporting youth and adults involved in sports. Raymond was also active in community organizations in Ottawa and later Sidney BC Kiwanis and the Royal Commonwealth Society.
One of Raymond's favourite activities was walking particularly later in life. The next time you go for a walk, think of a loved one and hold them close to your heart.
The family would like to express thanks to the staff at the Veterans Memorial Lodge, Broadmead Care who cared for Raymond in his final years.
At Raymond's request there will not be a funeral. If you would like to honour Raymond's gentle way of life the family suggests making a donation to Broadmead Care.
