Article unfair to Mount Douglas players

I am horrified by the article that you have posted about children that play football at Mt Doug. I guess I do need to remind you that they are children. I did not know that Saanich News’ policy is to print one-sided, barely researched articles about people’s children.

You have painted a group of children as racist bullies based on what facts? Unlike the reporter, I know a lot about football, Mt. Doug and children. I also know that present and past Mt. Doug players and its coaching staff are very racially diverse and there have never been “race” issues.

I feel like someone is trying to get some negative attention thrown on a group of children and this is the wrong way to do it. This is wrong…what you are doing by writing and posting this article is wrong. Painting children as racist bullies hurts them, their reputations and their futures.

Saanich News and Travis Paterson need to personally apologize to these children. What a bad example you have set for them…you should be ashamed of yourselves.
