One News reader argues that not enough infrastructure exists in B.C. to warrant purchasing electric cars. Kristyn Anthony/VICTORIA NEWS

Re: Victorians continue to cash in on B.C.’s Clean Energy Vehicle program (News, Dec. 8)

There is little or no infrastructure to support fast-charging outside of Victoria, Nanaimo or Vancouver. What there is in Victoria are two chargers to serve over 1,000 electric cars. Imagine waiting three hours to gas up your car?

In B.C. only a utility like BC Hydro can install Level 3 DC chargers for commercial use. And for some reason they are not installing them or allowing private companies or individuals to do it. All the more reason not to buy an electric vehicle in British Columbia.
