Dear Christy, please don’t follow Gordo’s path

Christy Clark and her colleagues promised to work together.

This leaves an opening for the NDP because the opposition is a very necessary part of a democratic government and therefore she should be willing to meet the request of the interim NDP leader. It is in the house where issues can be best dealt with in an open forum of constituency representatives.

As for building on the legacy of Gordon Campbell, I certainly hope she doesn’t, I would like to see her improve and do a better job. For example her commitment to putting families first and fighting poverty by creating jobs. This is a good goal but if we are to follow the example set by Campbell then these jobs will be created outside of B.C. to support such economies as Germany.

Concerning health care, this is a mistake that both Carole James and Mr. Campbell made. One to the Capital Regional Health District and the other expanded this concept to include Vancouver Island. Responsibility must come from the top down.

This new government is on top. It is their responsibility to provide direction to these people, not just receive direction from them and raise their salaries.

Campbell also did not seem to like public input. This is best demonstrated by the fiasco created by the way the HST was implemented. This was his eventual downfall, the people had had enough.

The question is, is she going to build on this legacy and continue this pattern, or is she going to take us in a new direction and involve the people by giving them a role in decision making and then listen to us?
