As a member of the Cordova Bay Village Vision Group, I was distressed and disappointed to see that Saanich council is putting on its agenda, the rezoning for the two properties so that Citta Construction Co. can go ahead and build a four-storey, 25-unit condo building which is contrary to the Saanich Official Community Plan and local area plan, and definitely contrary to the wishes of the residents close to this site.
We, in the Cordova Bay Village Vision Group, have made our opinions clear that we feel this is not in keeping with the look and feel of the Village of Cordova Bay, and we respectfully request that you turn down this application for rezoning.
If this rezoning is allowed to proceed, it will set a precedent for other developers to go ahead and construct buildings which are far too large for the village, and against the wishes of the majority of the residents of Cordova Bay.
