I read with interest Nina Grossman’s article in the Feb. 6 edition of the Victoria News on the increase in thrift store donations.

I am a firm believer in contributing to, and purchasing from thrift stores, but this does not include Value Village.

I would like to bring to your attention that the last paragraph in your article feeds the misconception that Value Village is a non-profit organization.

If you do a search on this company, you will find that it gives a minuscule amount back to the community.
