As long as there is no organized pick-up of bulky items by the Capital Regional District or the Greater Victoria municipalities, couches and mattresses will continue to appear on our boulevards.
The money spent by local municipalities to remove discards that don’t fit into a garbage can could be better used to co-ordinate annual or semi-annual pick-up of bulky discards, as is done in many countries.
Not everyone has access to a truck or even a car.
