LETTER: Level heads prevailed at Layritz parking lot

I write in response to Kerry O’Gorman’s letter published Oct. 17 with respect to the lack of speed bumps, signs or gate closers at the newly paved parking lot at Layritz.

I write in response to Kerry O’Gorman’s letter published Oct. 17 with respect to the lack of speed bumps, signs or gate closers at the newly paved parking lot at Layritz.

I frequent Layritz about three to four times a week to walk my dog. Never have I seen anyone speeding on the streets leading to or from the park. Glyn Rd. is indeed narrow but I have always found drivers wait their turn to traverse the road in between the cars parked on both sides.

Layritz, however, is a wide street. I know students at Camousun use the lot, but I hesitate to blame them as the reckless drivers. Thank goodness level heads prevailed and no speed bumps or gate closers were installed.
