The article written about a proposed disposable straw ban does not mention whether the straws are plastic or paper. I see nothing wrong with sustainable paper straws that are compostable and have gone out of my way to have them in my home instead of plastic.

Plastic straws are also recyclable. When considering these laws, one should be more concerned that the product is compostable or recyclable and whether the business is in the habit of properly recycling them. I still wonder whether all the recyclables that we take care to wash and separate aren’t still just going to the landfill.

I think the public has the right to know if our hard work for the environment isn’t being stepped on and negated by bad choices made by city services and I would like to see some clarification.
