Re: the letter to the editor ‘Police chief’s contract poor bang for the buck’ in the Sept. 27 Saanich News. By way of your newspaper, please let the writer, Jennifer Shore, know that she certainly is not the only Saanich resident who is ‘shocked and outraged’ at the ‘contract’ she speaks of.
I have emailed to Mayor Richard Atwell my thoughts on the matter that pretty well parallel hers on the matter. It is inconceivable to me that no one on the Saanich police force was considered capable, and therefore prepped, to take on the chief’s duties so as to have in place, a seamless transfer of office.
My hope is that all Saanich taxpayers will remember this outrage and turn out in much greater numbers than they did last week, for the 2018 municipal elections.
