Jack Rachwalski scored the only goal in a season ending 9-1 loss for the Saanich Braves.

The overage captain scored the first goal of the second period as the Campbell River Storm rolled over the Braves in Game 6 of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League first round playoff series.

The Braves rescued the series with a 3-1 win in Campbell River on Tuesday. But the high-powered offence of the Storm, which finished second in the league behind the powerhouse Victoria Cougars, was too much for the Braves.

Rachwalski ends his junior playing career with four goals and two assists in six games playoff games for 2016 and 10 playoff points in 12 games overall.

The Victoria Cougars will face the Peninsula Panthers in the south division final. The Cougars swept the Kerry Park Islanders in four straight while the Panthers defeated the Westshore Wolves in six games.

The Cougars host the provincial championship Fred "Cyclone" Taylor Cup starting April 7.
