A job posting for “Mascot Performer” was tweeted out by the organization Tuesday, calling the career posting “one for the books.”
With a call to “inspire the island,” the club said it is seeking someone who is outgoing, self-motivated and creative. Working 10 to 20 hours a week, the candidate must be able to commit to all home games as well as community outreach events throughout Vancouver Island.
To be part of the new movement in Canadian professional sports and “help build a franchise from the ground up,” people who are at least 18 years of age, have access to transportation, and who fit the credentials are encouraged to apply.
The team has not yet announced what the mascot will be.
The start date for the mascot position is April 8.
Pacific FC is a founding member of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) and kicks off its inaugural season on April 28 against HFX Wanderers at Westhills Stadium.
The season will consist of 28 regular season games with 14 at home and 14 away.
Founded in 2018, Pacific Football Club is bringing professional football to Vancouver Island. Playing out of a renovated, 6000-seat Westhills Stadium in Langford, the club will provide an outlet for Canadian youth to realize their dreams of playing at the professional level.
