Pickleball players compete in holiday tournament in Saanich

Teams competed for gold, silver and bronze honours

More than 60 avid pickleball players gathered safely for Victoria Regional Pickleball Association’s annual Christmas tournament.

Held at Saanich’s Pearkes Recreation Centre, the all-day event on Dec. 11 saw both novice and advanced players compete for honours.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to the top three teams in both A and B divisions.

Gold-medal winners in Division A were Dwayne Gordon and Bill Laliberty.

Silver went to Doug Bailey and Mary Roberts and bronze honours went to Brian de Schepper and John Handy.

In Division B Teri Kielbiski and Silvana Mastrodonato took home gold and silver went to Myrna Forland and Corine Reid.

Bronze was awarded to Leigh Brumwell and Duff Johnston in Division B.
