Another solid season comes to an end for the Victoria Shamrocks

The clutch play of Coquitlam Adanacs super duo of sniper Dane Dobbie and goalie Nick Rose were the undoing of the Victoria Shamrocks.

The Ads won 8-7 in Coquitlam on Wednesday to take the best-of-seven WLA semifinal series with four wins to two.

Meeting Coquitlam in the final is the Langley Thunder, which beat the Burnaby Lakers in the other semifinal.

The Adanacs had defeated the Rocks just twenty-four hours previous at Bear Mountain Arena on Tuesday in Game 5.

Shamrock Corey Small scored four goals on Wednesday, and Derek Lowe and Jeff Shattler each continued their strong play chipping in with four and five points respectively.

Daryl Veltman had a hat trick and Dane Dobbie scored twice in the game for the A’s.

Dobbie totaled 19 goals in all six games. Rose stopped 42 of 49 shots. The 6-foot-tall, 290 lbs. goalie was outstanding, with an impressive .840 save percentage in the series.

With the Shamrocks down a goal late in the third period, they called for a measurement of Rose's stick and it resulted in a penalty to the A’s with just 21 seconds left.

Then with one second remaining in the game, Shattler hit the crossbar.
