It’s Socktober and the Saanich Fusion Football Club is participating by collecting donations this weekend.

As part of the club’s annual photo session, players have been asked to bring warm socks and non-perishable food items to help the less fortunate in our community.

“Our players are learning that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a big impact for those spending long days and nights outside in the cold,” says SFFC president Barrie Keefe.

Donations are being accepted from 8 am to 1 pm on Saturday (Oct. 25) and 9 to 10 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 26) at the Fusion clubhouse in Gordon Head, 4368 Tyndall Ave.

Players will be delivering the donations to Our Place.
