This September, get lost in Silver Rill’s first-ever corn maze.
Clayton Fox, who co-owns the 90-year-old farm with his wife Rochelle, built the maze with the help of his young sons. Located behind the farm’s market on 7117 Central Saanich Rd., the maze is a two-acre plot of twists, turns and dead-ends amid 14-foot-tall corn.
“Clayton and I just took over the farm … and we have a family with three small children, and we are always looking for fun and exciting things to do,” says Rochelle.
Maze admission is priced at $5 per person; children two and younger get in for free, with tickets only available at the checkout at the farm’s market.
“It’s super important for families to be able to do fun things at an affordable rate,” Rochelle says.
Silver Rill – the Greater Victoria farm synonymous with delicious corn – will unveil the maze to the public on Sept. 12. It will then be open Thursday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (weather permitting). While hours, days and final day are subject to change, the goal is to keep this schedule at least through Thanksgiving.
