World Oceans Day Festival is June 3 to encourage young people to protect the world's oceans.
Organized by Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Services and the World Fisheries Trust, the celebration includes live music, canoe rides, interpretive walks, educational displays, crafts, face-painting and touch tanks filled with marine life.
The free event happens on Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Esquimalt Gorge Park, off Tillicum Road (across from Saanich’s Gorge Park.)
