The Capital Regional District is warning residents of upcoming facility closures and upgrades at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park.
The intermittent picnic shelter and washroom closures are for roof cleaning and will take place on July 4 and 10, while a section of trail is being upgraded.
On Tuesday (July 4), the Brookleigh Boat Launch washroom will be closed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and the Eagle Beach picnic shelter will be closed from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
On Monday, July 10, the Equestrian Centre washroom and Filter Beds picnic shelter will be closed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. while the Fishing Pier washroom will be closed from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
While the washrooms will remain available for use (staff will pause work to allow access), the picnic shelters will be closed for the duration of the work.
Park users are also expected to see some delays while crews upgrade a section of trail near Beaver Lake. Work got underway on June 30 and is expected to go until July 7.
The 10 km portion – between Beaver Beach and the northeast end of Beaver Lake is getting an overhaul. The trail is expected to remain open with temporary delays for the duration of the work.
The CRD asks residents to follow the direction of staff and signage and use caution around crews and equipment.
