Saanich Fire responds to brush fire

Traffic diverted for several hours on Saanich Road Saturday afternoon

Traffic was diverted on the 3800 block of Saanich Road for several hours Saturday as a result of a brush fire in the Swan Lake area.

Saanich Police were dispatched just after 2 p.m. to assist with traffic as the Saanich Fire Department responded to the fire. Northbound traffic is being diverted on to Falmouth Road while southbound traffic is being detoured to Greenridge Crescent. Fire crews had the blaze extinguished by late Saturday afternoon and traffic returned to normal.
