Saanich rec centres may consider sharing software with rest of region

Capital Regional District awards a five-year contract to PerfectMind software

Saanich recreation centres may consider using the same rec centre management software as the rest of Greater Victoria after the Capital Regional District awarded a five-year contract to PerfectMind software.

The contract for the software management used by Panorama (North Saanich, Seaparc (Sooke) and Salt Spring Island rec centres is set to expire in December 2017. Others ran their own software contracts. They’ll join Oak Bay, Saanich, Victoria, West Shore Parks and Esquimalt on the new software contract.

The CRD will save approximately $39,500 annually and $200,000 over the life of the five-year contract, said Esquimalt Mayor Barbara Desjardins, CRD Board Chair.

PerfectMind’s software provides, mobile access, online registration for programs and services, and additional marketing opportunities through social media.

It will cost $106,038 for the new system and an annual operating cost of $45,246 per year for the five years, for a total of $332,268.
