Search and rescue operation in Sooke Hills on Sunday

Crews stretchered one person out of backcountry near Sugarloaf Mountain

Search and rescue crews in Greater Victoria were kept busy over the weekend with an operation in the Sooke Hills near Sugarloaf.

Crews were called out at around 4 p.m. with roughly 30 members from Juan de Fuca and Metchosin working together. of the Juan de Fuca search and rescue team, and Metchosin Emergency Program.

Shortly after 9 p.m. they found the person and stretchered them out to hand off to BC Ambulance.
