Subdivisions are the intrusion on our agricultural land

I would like to remind people that, long before houses were built on former ALR land, it was farmland, forest land, and other descriptions making it suitable for agriculture. It is the building of sub-divisions on (former) ALR land that is the intrusion. But somehow, people think that this takes precedence over “farm smells” and “rat invasions,” and demand that yet more ALR land be used for “development.”

When such people can SEE a farm across the road when they are purchasing their “dream home” do they not know what goes on in making the food that feeds us?
