Letter: Washington turns up heat for Vic sewage plant,

Washington turns up heat for Vic sewage plant, Mayor Lisa Helps is taking Washington’s latest threats seriously.

Mayor Lisa Helps is taking Washington’s latest threats seriously. The truth about the effectiveness of Victoria’s marine waste water system is less important to her. For politicians it seems, perception is more important than principles.

What Washington officials think about Victoria’s sewage system is not important. What’s important are the facts surrounding the issue. And the facts are well known to the science community on both sides of the border.

Pandering to Politicians who apparently know little about how Victoria’s marine treatment system works or which way the Salish sea flows is not the right way to stand by principles. A billion dollars is a lot of money to spend on perception.
