Many drawbacks to regional amalgamation

I see the amalgamation gang are at it again. They always say they speak for the majority, but I doubt it.

They want all the police departments to amalgamate so that we can all be as happy as Esquimalt? The administrative costs of Victoria are out of control. The answer? Amalgamate. Get the rest of Greater Victoria to share the cost.

I have looked at the other areas of Canada where amalgamation has been forced or been selected. Costs go up and service to the outlying areas goes down. Once it is done it cannot be undone so give it a hard look before you get on the bandwagon.

The Capital Regional District is area-wide and we are all happy with them, right?
