Nathalie Chambers suggestion that Saanich provide a waste oil drop area at the municipal yard has some merit.
I would go one step further and suggest that any retailer who sells oil products be required to accept waste oil products similar to the requirement of retailers who sell returnable bottles and cans.
Since there are several retailers of oil products located in the municipality, the distance required to travel to a waste drop-off would be even less than that required to travel to the municipal works yard.
