Olympic legacy nothing more than a generation footing a costly bill

Re: Reflecting on Olympic legacy (Our View, Feb. 18)

To believe that the Olympics almost broke even is a pipe dream. Even with all the volunteer help we are still in debt for millions of dollars.

Last year before the Olympics began my grandson was saying “believe.” My wife and I both said to him: “Believe you will be still paying for the Olympics well into your adult life.”

I am not saying that the Olympics were not good for B.C. to some degree, but I am sure the billions spent could have been put to a far greater benefit.
