Poppy pinning a heartfelt gesture

Mount Douglas Park display makes for a poignant reminder of sacrifices

Because we just celebrated Remembrance Day, I felt it was important to mention that along Shelbourne Street, near the entrance to the Mount Doug Park, people have begun to pin poppies on the trunks of the trees.

They do this because originally, these trees were planted to mark the loss of a soldier from Victoria during the First World War who died in service. I think it is an absolutely wonderful and thoughtful way for Victorians to personally remember those from our beautiful city who we lost.
